RWBY Season 9 Episode 2 Altercations at the Auspicious Auction: Recap

Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang have finally reunited, and now they are trying to figure out the name of the place they’ve got trapped in. They also ask each other about what incidents happened to them after they fell into this world in order to better understand their situation. Weiss is angry and decides to take the lead in this discussion as she can’t stand being trapped.

Ruby made friends with a talking mouse, Blake and Weiss got caught by Killer Vines, and Yang lost her arm to some random talking raccoon riding a trash vehicle. Weiss takes a break to understand their situation, but she starts to go insane just thinking about all this. Meanwhile, Blake presumes that they are in the “Ever After,” a place heard of in The Book of Alex.

Weiss believes it’s just fantasy, but the mouse agrees with Blake. Blake asks the mouse for more information, but he says that he has never explored the city. After this, they all think back to The Book of Alex and get stunned by the similarities. They finally know that if their guess is correct, then their way out is the giant tree. But the issue is that they haven’t found Yang’s arm yet.

The Mouse interrupts and says that Yang’s arm is probably stolen by the “Jinxy Peddler,” so they set out to find him. On their way, Blake makes fun of Yang for losing her arm by cracking many puns like “unarmed,” etc. Ruby is reminded of Penny, which makes her emotional. Upon reaching the city, they find the Jinxy Peddler.

They barter with the peddler, but Yang’s arm is taken by the royal guards. The mouse takes action and undoes the tricks of the peddler, which reveals Yang’s arm. Yang makes a run for it and takes her arm. Meanwhile, Ruby finds Penny’s sword and starts crying after seeing it. Blake suggests they follow the rest of the Alex Book and go to the crimson palace.

As soon as she says it, the royal guards arrive at the scene and announce an arrest warrant on all four of them. Ruby wipes her tears and offers the sword as a gift for the King and says that it belongs to the strongest warrior to ever exist while holding back tears. This makes all the royal guards cry. They decide to take Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang to the King’s birthday, and the episode ends there.
